Content Design for the State of Connecticut
Since September 2023, I have worked with the Digital Government and Operational Excellence team in the Bureau of Information Technology Services for the State of Connecticut. In this role, I have serves as a lead strategist and UX/UI expert, tasked with modernizing the state government’s web presence.
Social Services
In February of 2025, we launched a new website for the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS). Leading a team of content designers, and in collaboration with product designers and the project management team, I focused on user-friendliness and accessibility in our redesign. The goal: to make government benefits — like SNAP (i.e. food stamps), healthcare, financial assistance, etc. — easier to access by those who need it most.
Emergency Services and Public Protection
Launched in March 2025, the new website for the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) brings transparency and openness to the agency in charge of keeping Connecticut safe. Comprised of six divisions, all with their own priorities and responsibilities, DESPP tested my project management abilities as I led a team of content designers in this immense redesign. The result, however, was definitely worth the effort and was enthusiastically recieved by stakeholders and users alike.
Aging and Disability SErvices
For over a year, I worked with the team at the Connecticut Department of Aging and Disability Services (ADS) to bring their vision of a new website to life. Our primary mission with this project was accessibility, making sure it was part of the conversation every step of the way. We wanted to build a site that would be easy to use and navigate by all users, regardless of age or disability status. And in reaching that goal, this project became an unquestionable success.
